International Women's Day 2018: Gender-Gap Brain Farts

The RINJ Foundation - Celebrating International Women's Day 2018

Women and men  actually want the same things. We are all upright-walking homo-sapiens and when we all get out of bed in the morning, the world we want to make better is enjoyed the same way by both genders. Balance is beautiful. We all like that too. Melissa Hemingway (Feminine Perspective Staff writer)

Our brains shudder in fear of having to calculate quantums of space, an infinite universe, the computational fluid dynamics of ocean ecosystems and aerosol dynamics modeling of climate change and human sustainability.

But most people’s noggins are adept at processing sensory data of simple events, objects and daily experiences. Here is one of those realities for your noggin to digest fast: men and women are born equal but they will not each receive the same pay for the same job until another 217 years have passed.

Think equality.

Sadly the latest World Economic Forum-Gender Gap Report, which measures gender equality on a global scale, 2017 was the first time in more than 10 years that the gender gap began to widen again.  The current gap in income between men and women is so wide that it would take 217 years to close it, according to the report. Inequality grew across all categories, but the gap grew particularly in the economic equality category.

A gallery of heroes, martyrs, best friends to remember, as we celebrate international Women’s Day and rebound from one of the worst years in history for women.

Rape genocide, extra judicial killings, ethnic cleansing, internal displacement, failed democracies, religious fundamentalism, unreliable or nonexistent health care and reproductive rights stained human development hopes over the past year.

The patriarchal governance across the globe is a sham. Sick bastards rule with tyranny and impunity and they start with jingoistic tirades and a few thousand murders to breed and cultivate a reign of terror.

Since August 2017, women and children in the hundreds of thousands have been forced from Myanmar to places like the Balukhali Rohingya refugee camp in Bangladesh. Tens of thousands will die from disease and malnutrition when the monsoons come at the end of this dry season in a few months.

Tens of thousands will perish when the rains come

Why do some women advocate reverse discrimination when angered about the gender gap?

Don’t even think to mimic the testosterone lust for power and control. It’s not going to happen for you, sisters and it is not a worthy goal. Think equality. Look at anything someone has done and know you can do it yourself as well or better.

“Girl power” is ok for parades  and cartoons but it’s a chant that won’t fly to the lofty heights of CEO.  Your take-away should be equality. Boy and girl babies are born equal–they should live as equals in society. When that happens, communities prosper.

In the context of true gender equality in the real world, women’s groups that talk about “girl power” and “women’s empowerment” are nauseating me. Are you really taking over the world, Wonderwoman? You are ridiculing real women and men.

I have seen women snipers kill attacking terrorists in Iraq; watched women attack freshly built car bombs by putting grenades under their engine compartments in Mosul–they saved countless lives by disabling those iron-clad contraptions and stopping a global enemy. You can have that power too. Nobody is stopping you from joining the army and training hard. You can earn any goal you wish to achieve. It won’t be given to you. You must earn your goals like all men and women.

We suspect that the gender gap has widened lately because of women themselves and because of the pervasive drift around the world away from democracy. Women need to vote en masse as well as seeking political office. Poor voter turnout is a shame. Don’t let it happen again.

What Women want, hah hah.

Classic brain farts of what women are all about equally piss me off.

Here are a few cliches. Women can’t operate tools, don’t like cars, hate sports, don’t fart and loathe freedom. Nonsense. But the cliche’s that really set my knickers aflame are the ones that say all women do love pink things, little kids, cupcakes, big penises, high heels, push-up bras, big boobs, chocolate, lipstick, nail polish, nice pots & pans, kitchens, and Oprah. Blech. Think people. Think equality, cooperation and solid communication. Then fight discrimination with sound logic.

If this is a gender war… find a peace not a weapon.

Girls and women don’t need power they need equality of political, economic and educational opportunities. The feminine side needs equal chances for good health and survival and communication without discrimination.

In fact, the feminine side needs all the things afforded to the masculine side, equally.

Sustainable human development depends on us all working together, equally, letting the best and the brightest benefit from their own achievements and sharing their knowledge as leaders regardless of gender, race or creed.

Where are the women? Where are the women?

“Girl power. Women power.  Defeat men.”  Make it stop!  Our mantra is that gender equal cooperatives in business, health care, society, politics and academia leads to betterment of the whole. That is a proven fact. Discrimination against women is an epic fail when it comes to making money, solving social problems, and curing patients.

Seek equality.

Economic Participation and Opportunity

I have watched women surgeons and nurses perform tooth extractions,  partial excision of breasts, extraction of smashed eye lenses, do haemorrhoid operations,  thyroidectomies, open operation on bladders, total mastectomies, vaginal repair or hysterectomies, operations on the lung, excision or resection of the colon/stomach/rectum, and then go change a flat tire to get to their next home care assignment in a war zone. Men and women do this work as equals.

The people at the administrative levels of health care don’t work as equals in these bastions of misogyny. That’s a male dominated world at the top and it will change if shareholders discover how other industries are making the real money: gender parity.

The RINJ Foundation - Celebrating International Women's Day 2018In employment numbers Women have begun to dominate health care. Women also dominate child care, veterinary services, social services, education, libraries and archives, legal services and leisure/hospitality sectors. Women are not rising to the top in these sectors and should be.

When  the Pfizer shareholders give women the top jobs, the women will hire other women and send a clarion call to the rest of the pharmaceutical and medical giants that gender-equality is very good for business. Above current projections, this will grow the industry sector by 13% over 3 years and up to 26% in the first ten years of gender equal management. It’s time to give the heave-ho to Ian Read, Pfizer Chairman and Chief Executive Officer; Frank D’Amelio – Executive Vice President, Business Operations and Chief Financial Officer; and Mikael Dolsten – President, Worldwide Research and Development, then make some real money.

Meet Mary Barra

The RINJ Foundation - Celebrating International Women's Day 2018

Meet Mary Barra, CEO and chair of American giant car maker General Motors (GM).  Mary is not about girl power she is about improving your transportation and making money for you if you happen to be a GM shareholder or stakeholder. She is also about caring for a quarter million GM employees.

Mary Barra was elected Chairman of the GM Board of Directors on January 4, 2016, and has served as CEO of GM since January 15, 2014.

Under Barra’s leadership, GM says it envisions a world with zero crashes, to save lives; zero emissions, so future generations can inherit a healthier planet; and zero congestion, so customers get back a precious commodity — time. She’s focused on strengthening GM’s core business of  cars, trucks and crossovers, while also working to lead the transformation of personal mobility through advanced technologies like connectivity, electrification, autonomous driving and car sharing. Barra has also established a strategic direction based on putting the customer at the center of everything the company does.

I agree, a women leading a gender-equal team can do all of that which GM describes. This is the start of something very good for General Motors. I will surely buy their cars for the next long while. I think you might too if you take a look at the direction Mary is moving the GM brand of products.

Women and men actually want the same things. We are all upright-walking homo-sapiens and when we all get out of bed in the morning, the world we want to make better is enjoyed the same way by both genders. Balance is beautiful. We all like that too.

But women get less pay or none at all. Women’s work at home needs to be recognized.

These ladies are very good at what they do. They do not earn a salary commensurate with their achievement. That must change.

In addition to making meals at home, which is a tin-roof shack or a shared space in someone else’s shack, these women cook food and sell their simple meals at roadside “restaurants” in central Luzon island, Philippines or work in small market garden farm plots. While they continue to care for their families feeding and cleaning, having children and caring for them, they work long hours each day and earn less than $1.90 daily purchasing power parity and as such comprise a group of 11% of the Philippines’ employed population doing slightly better than the 21% of population living in abject poverty. (2012 data from the Asian Development Bank but recent analysis suggests massive deterioration since 2012.)

Health and Survival – Women with Children appear most often among migrants and the impoverished. Mortality rates are awful.

Political Opportunities? Some Realities Do Not Feel Good
The RINJ Foundation - Celebrating International Women's Day 2018

In Myanmar, Aung San Suu Kyi sets back the cause of women in politics by acquiescing to military men who are burning villages and cleansing Myanmar of Muslims. She was constitutionally barred from becoming President, a position called State Counsellor, similar to Prime Minister, was established for her on 6 April 2016 to the sound of cheers around the world. She is a stuffed skirt. She has since presided over one of the worst ethnic cleansing horrors in the 21st century.

The word charlatan comes to mind. A charlatan is a person practicing quackery or some similar confidence trick or deception in order to obtain money, fame or other advantages via some form of pretense or deception. This woman pretends to be one thing but she is no more than a schill for a patriarch that is slaughtering a class of people in what was once Burma. Instead of accolades she should be given an indictment, conviction and life sentence at the Hague. Hopefully she will join members of the Myanmar military junta in prison.

Gender equality is not being someone’s figurehead bitch doing accountable crime and taking the heat for cigar-smoking Generals swilling brandy, eating emmental cheese and imported prawns while cheering the decimation of villages one after another. Sick bastards.
