Feminism Wins Canadian Election 2019 [FPMag Editorial]

Government must heed the voices of constituents to put people ahead of officials’ selfish personal goals.

Two Canadian political parties and their leaders Justin Trudeau, and Jagmeet Singh, both stepped up and responded to the voices of women and children of Canada. Their reward, in these heavy days of global belligerence, misogyny and corruption, is a  burden of trust.

Their commitment to sustainable human development in Canada and to helping those in the global community whose lives would benefit from Canadian example and guidance, is not only expected, but is demanded.

Doing the right thing at the time is how women need our leaders to behave. Please love your country and all its peoples heartfully; and care about each and every single Canadian, equally.

“Gender equality is not only a fundamental human right, but a necessary foundation for a peaceful, prosperous and sustainable world. Unfortunately, at the current time, 1 in 5 women and girls between the ages of 15-49 have reported experiencing physical or sexual violence by an intimate partner within a 12-month period and 49 countries currently have no laws protecting women from domestic violence. Progress is occurring regarding harmful practices such as child marriage and FGM (Female Genital Mutilation), which has declined by 30% in the past decade, but there is still much work to be done to completely eliminate such practices.”—United Nations Sustainable Development Goals platform.

The Benefits of Gender Equality Are Far Reaching & Comprehensive According to a McKinsey Global Institute (MGI) report, "a best in region scenario in which all countries match the rate of improvement of the fastest-improving country in their region could add as much as $12 trillion, or 11 percent, in annual 2025 GDP. In a full potential scenario in which women play an identical role in labour markets to that of men, as much as $28 trillion, or 26 percent, could be added to global annual GDP by 2025. MGI's full-potential estimate is about double the average estimate of other recent studies, reflecting the fact that MGI has taken a more comprehensive view of gender inequality in work". “The Benefits of Gender Equality Are Far Reaching & Comprehensive

Climate Change and Global Warming

“Billions of women and their children need leaders to do the right thing and make climate change mitigation a priority,” says Sharon Santiago from the Cordillera Mountains of the Philippines.

“Climate change is the defining challenge of our time. Canada’s climate science, whether on ecosystem health or atmospheric models, is internationally recognized and provides solid knowledge on which to take action,” says Dr. Mona Nemer, Chief Science Advisor for the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change Canada.

Thank you to all the Candidates who came forward from every walk of life to represent their communities. You have done your country a great service by raising voices in a debate that must not stop after 21 October 2019.
