When China’s Communist Party arrested Sophia Huang Xueqin mid-month, it was another aberration of nature. This is abhorrent behaviour because lions shouldn’t be eating the butterflies. Snakes, toads, rats and lizards eat butterflies, but not lions, says the experts at the butterfly site.

They are Butterflies.

Sophia Huang Xueqin, a budding China journo and human rights defender, had her passport confiscated in August; was banned from Hong Kong law study in September; and now is locked up in Guangzhou, the province nearest Hong Kong. She has been outspoken about Hong Kong freedom demonstrators, but she was truthful, as always.

FPM.news was told that, “this will likely be cleared up in a day,” by sources familiar with the Baiyun District Detention Centre, because the matter is a suspicion of a misdemeanour like “conspiring to cause trouble”.

A closer look suggests that a couple of her posts  as a freelance reporter for alternative media annoyed the Chinese but that is not clear nor is it part of a charging document that has been released.

“The lions are eating the butterflies,” said Rosa Yamamoto, our tiny, perfect art director.

“They are not lions,” said Katie Alsop. “Snakes, toads, rats & lizards eat butterflies, not lions. It is a cowardly bully who detains Sophia”.
