Measles Slam Philippines. Vaccines Slam Measles Back. Vaccines Worked.

Some hospitals in Manila set up emergency tents in their parking lots to accommodate case volumes. Now that situation is improving, the high count of Measles deaths that could have been prevented by trusting vaccines is a heart-stopping lesson.

The photo and its story. Cases drop as vaccinations of children rise above 3.7 million or 93% of the most vulnerable.  The target of 95% minimum must be reached and exceeded. Get vaccinated or Measles will be back say PH DoH officials.

“The Philippines Department of Health with the help of NGOs is credited with doing a good job of fighting Measles in 2019. It took two years to wake up to the problem however. The population needs to see, understand and believe that vaccines work. Measles kill babies and this outbreak has killed over 400. The death rate is dropping because vaccines work. Why did you wait so long, po? Baby can be routinely vaccinated for measles after 9 months and earlier in a crisis. Don’t wait, sisters. My tears and prayers are for the sad families who lost children. God Bless your baby. A good way to remember lost souls is to make sure this never happens again. Remember that vaccines work.” – Sharon Santiago

Government is getting better, sister. Don’t let the Dengue-Vaccine-Scam sway you. Measles vaccine works. It is around for decades and it works.

I am talking to you. Those families who have lost a child to Measles cannot be blamed. They must not blame themselves. It is understood that people became afraid of vaccines because of bad-talkers (chismis) but now families know that vaccines work. Trust your doctors, Pinoys.

The outbreak started in 2017. All through the Dengue-Vaccine-Scam in 2018 there was a fear of vaccines in general and too much bungangera. Scammers cause chismis.

Nobody paid much attention to the growing number of Measles cases until the patients were crowding the parking lots of Manila in hospital overflow tents.

According to the report, up to 24 April 2019, 5,379,927 Filipinos have been vaccinated against measles and rubella: 3,512,350 aged 6-59 months (2% short of goal at 93% of the target population of 3,784,099). Hooray for Pinoys.

If you are not vaccinated against Measles, do it. Salamat, po.
Vaccines work.

Endemic smallpox, polio, measles, pertussis & rubella are vaccine-preventable disease only if all humans maintain the resistance. Some disease are spreading because of never-established or waning immunity. That’s the case for universal immunization and keeping the human race alive.

Also called rubeola, measles can be serious and even fatal for small children. While death rates have been falling worldwide as more children receive the measles vaccine, the disease still kills more than 100,000 people a year, most under the age of 5. – Mayo Clinic Photo Art: Rosa Yamamoto FPM.news
