Sorry for the inconvenience. We Have No Choice. HK to resume flights.

China calls its intelligent university students, ‘terrorists’…
…and then threatens them with violence.
So the university kids went and sat down at the airport for four days and sang songs. Flights finally resumed a few minutes ago.

China has begun to mishandle the situation in Hong Kong in the same brutal way it is progressively mishandling even the smallest of matters lately. China and Hong Kong must both become more accommodating. Beijing needs a more thoughtful  and honest approach or it will lose HK. People who have acquired a taste for democracy will not back down from those values. Read if you wish:  Dear China; Yours truly, Hong Kong.

Under Xi Jinping a series of events have rolled China deeper into authoritarianism. Xi gave the wrong signals to remaining corrupt goons & they are running with old Mao Zedong ways thinking Xi is in the team.

Xi Jinping needs to pull up his socks. He believes he eliminated government corruption from China but all he did was imprison or kill  a million members of his opposition.

HK protests are not about a group of radicals, it is about the people of Hong Kong seeking democracy. The conduct of Xi Jinping has terrified many people.

All the people of Hong Kong love their Hong Kong. Beijing loved Hong Kong too when it was contributing to China’s gross domestic product. But civil unrest has begun to tank the economy. Shake your head if you like but FPMag staffers are starting to think this situation could have a global impact.

Eyes-on every minute of every day say, that the people of Hong Kong are demonstrating peacefully but have been met with violence and draconian measures by Beijing-backed police squads.

Since a group calling itself the Civil Human Rights Front (CHRF), a coalition of  50 HK pro-democracy groups, launched its first protest march on 31 March 2019, the angers were stoked not mitigated.

From Southorn Playground in Wan Chai to the Central Government Complex in Admiralty the crowds grew.

The protest was aimed to stopping a slippery extradition law that would have handed the rule of law to the Communist Party in Beijing and ruined the self-governance of Hong Kong.

Since then, it appears that Beijing has been pursuing the same disingenuous strategies. Beijinhg’s narrative is crude. And it is not going up against terrorists but some of the best and the brightest young HK students who will someday be the doctors and scientists who must fix the messes made by authoritarian regimes today.

The message from the Civil Human Rights Front students and their supporters: Sorry for the inconvenience We Have No Choice.
