Study: 7.8 Billion to 1 in favour of vaccination

The USA government’s cavalier attitude toward child safety  (i.e.: bombing schools and school buses in Yemen; creating US concentration camps for refugee children confiscated from parents) should not sway global values for child protection. But it may have done that. A reduction in vaccinations (lack of child care) has resulted in far too many child deaths from polio and measles in the recent past. This is a cognitive TREND LINE presenting grave danger for children and their families.

[RINJ In-Depth Healthy Women and Families Feature]

We are going to share some facts and let the adult reader make their own decisions about vaccination for themselves. For children, parents do not have the choice of endangering a child’s life.

This is like curing depression to prevent suicide. Cure the ignorance about immunization and prevent people from killing themselves and their children by holding back from immunization. Antivaxxers are causing the deaths of far too many children, particularly measles, dengue and polio. Yes, polio has returned in many countries and is spreading.

Warning: No matter what you read here you are urged to consult your own personal physician for all medical advice relating to your health case.

This article is written by medical practitioners who deliver free medical care in very tough environments. That means that they have seen very many patients (free) and own a wealth of experience-based knowledge. It is worth paying attention before making a decision not to vaccinate and risking a likely morbid outcome. Consult your own doctor about any and all medical decisions for you and your family. Those practitioners are bound to abide Public Health officials on epidemics and keep patients healthy.

COVID-19 pandemic, endemic smallpox, polio, measles, pertussis & rubella are vaccine-preventable disease only if all humans maintain the resistance. Some disease are spreading because of never-established or waning immunity. That’s the case for universal immunization and keeping the human race alive and healthy.

One of the current and arguably bizarre infections roaring across the planet is Measles. Because Measles kills, every infant needs to be vaccinated against measles at the age of 9 months or as soon as possible after 9 months as part of a routine infant immunization schedule. It is safe to vaccinate any sick child who is suffering from a minor illness (cough, cold, diarrhea, fever or malnutrition) or who has already been vaccinated against measles. Don’t risk your baby’s life by not immunizing the child. The number of infant deaths by measles is staggering.

Among the Top Ten Health Threats to World Health is Refusing to Immunize says the World Health Organization (WHO)

Did you know that AntiVaxxers might kill you? The refusal to vaccinate despite availability of free vaccines threatens to reverse progress made in ending epidemics of vaccine-preventable disease. It’s number eight among the top ten threats to your health. Here is the top ten threat list going into 2020:

  1. The SARS-CoV-2 virus which causes COVID-19 disease.
  2. Air pollution and climate change.
  3. Non Communicable disease (like diabetes, cancer, heart disease)
  4. Global influenza pandemic
  5. Fragile and vulnerable settings
  6. Antimicrobial resistance
  7. Ebola and other high-threat pathogens
  8. Weak primary health care
  9. Vaccine hesitancy (AntiVaxxers.)
  10. Dengue
  11. HIV/AIDS

How real is this list? Start wearing a respirator mask.

Doctors prefer to give or hear medical research lectures for disease prevention than to attend and care for crowds of very ill and dying people. When they give you advice, it is because they want you to be well. Take the doctor’s advice seriously. Feel free to ask several doctors but take it seriously.

It was once true that for people who did not get vaccinated we should recommend the wearing of surgical respirator masks. Now, almost everyone should wear a respirator mask.

Likely you have seen masks worn in major cities where epidemics are in progress or where pollution is high. Singapore, Beijing, Los Angeles, New York, Manila are places where you should not be without a respirator mask.

But don’t confuse a respirator mask with a surgical droplet mask intended to protect others from your droplets of spit.

These will help protect others from bacteria-laden droplets of your spit. They will do nothing much to protect you.

Surgical anti-fog masks may include masks labeled as surgical, laser, isolation, dental, or medical procedure masks and are primarily intended to protect the patient, not the wearer, from the wearer’s saliva and respiratory secretions.

Surgical N95 respirators (N95 Medical Particulate Respirator) are designed to reduce by as much as 95%  but cannot eliminate the wearer’s exposure to airborne biological contaminants. They do not eliminate the risk of illness, disease, or death. They form a tight seal over the mouth and nose and  must be adjusted to your face to provide the intended effectiveness of filtering 95 percent of particles with a mass median diameter of 0.3 micrometers.

N95s must be NIOSH-certified and fluid resistant to a certified level measured against a stream of artificial blood directed at the respirator. Look for the NIOSH symbol marked on the mask before you buy. The health care N95 is intended to be worn by operating room personnel during surgical procedures to help protect both the surgical patient and the operating room personnel from transfer of microorganisms, body fluids, and particulate material. That’s what you need to help protect you from pollution and microbes.

  3. What to do if you choose not to be vaccinated.

Sharing weird stuff we learned in IMPOSSIBLE Environments

What is an “IMPOSSIBLE Environment“?

  • noisy, ground-shaking bombs falling around the clinic;
  • the stink of gasoline and exhaust from the generator when the wind blows through a gaping hole in a wall caused by a rocket blast;
  • being summoned into a war-zone’s dirty basement where a woman is struggling to deliver a baby surrounded by pools of water, urine and feces; and
  • working with too many patients in small spaces where some patients likely should be quarantined.

The Hygiene Hypothesis

It’s time to bring up the hygiene hypothesis which advances that a lack of early childhood exposure to infectious agents, gut flora, probiotics and parasites increases proclivity toward allergies by suppressing natural development of the immune system.
Sterilizing the infant’s environment keeps the little human away from nature. Like many things, too much of a good thing can make it a bad thing? That may be true but we cannot embrace the hygiene hypothesis just because of some rare benefits of being dirty. The answer must be somewhere in the middle.

The extreme sterile environments that practitioners are trained to maintain in hospitals and clinics, operating rooms and critical care/recovery rooms, are validated over and over, but the same practise at home may send your child to us without any environmentally acquired immunity, and a rampaging pathogen that has made its new home among her tasty cells, running amok in her little body.

Too clean and sterile at home? That’s for each family to decide based on their own circumstances.

Another kid from the same school classroom, picking her nose, eating her boogers, while playing intently in a normal kid’s messy bedroom might have fought the pathogen and killed it after a few sneezes.  Hygiene hypothesis (?) or not, she resisted a particular infection or toxin by the action of specific antibodies or sensitized white blood cells. This happens because her body once exposed to the pathogen (many ‘germs’ don’t live long without a host so boogers are mostly a harvest of dead pathogens), studied the thing and started amassing antibodies and training white blood cell soldiers to identify this little twerp and beat the hell out of it if ever spotted alive.  (Surely, somewhere, a pre-Med Prof. just fainted.)

The point here is that you cannot see microbes in your environment. So what?

Hence you can’t pick and choose which ones to block out, even if you could block them from the environment around your family unless you vaccinate your family. So get vaccinated.

More weird observations: An Infant born to die as did others.

In a remote region of a developing nation a baby was delivered in the hot, sweaty, dirty obstetric room of a shoddily-run hospital. That day, nine babies were born to healthy mothers out of which by midnight only seven survived.

One of these surviving babies born at a good healthy average weight we tracked because after 7 days the child presented at a RINJ free clinic, very very sick. The infant was vomiting bile.

It’s little body’s organs were shutting down. It had been breastfeeding well but was still losing weight. We sensed that the gastrointestinal system was failing. Fever was high. A quick blood test revealed a white count through the roof.

Microbial Star Wars was being fought in this infant’s little body. Tissue was being eaten.

IV-induced antibiotics began the process of immunization and change while other steps were taken to prep the infant for possible surgery; catheterization; enteral feeding; and diagnostics.

Xrays revealed an infection behind the heart and in the lungs leading to a suspicion that the child with first breaths had ingested airborne streptococcus in droplets of moisture from an unmasked practitioner.

More blood tests came back indicated the child was riddled with sepsis which is most often caused by bacterial infection in the blood. This stage is called septicemia.

The cause of this septicemia whereat the body goes into overdrive to fight the pathogens in the blood, can be viral, bacterial, or fungal.

Viral causes include enterovirus, herpex virus simplex, or adenovirus. The most common bacterial causes are Escherichia coli (E. coli) and group B streptococcus (GBS), which can be passed on to the infant during delivery because of a non-sterile environment. In this instance, seven surviving babies had that day been delivered on this same bed and the number of the day before may have been the same. Thus the environment was hostile.  Upon later investigation it was learned that the protocols for cleaning, sterility and  handling and removing bio-waste materials were non-existent. It was a dangerously bad environment that bred infections and death.

This infant survived with intense clinical care and 7 days of overnight stay with constant medicine and 24/7  medical care by RINJ practitioners.

Watch an Immune System do its Work

The little one thereafter became a popular and frequent visitor to this particular RINJ clinic. That led to many medical observations wherein the child’s body was observed to do several things to prevent another episode of this kind of attack by deadly pathogens. It’s immune system was and continues to be amazingly strong.

  • The child began to store some extra fat as a hedge against future illness.
  • The fat vanished as the infant became a healthy mobile toddler and grew taller, packing more immunity as the routine schedule for vaccinations began to have an effect.
  • The child refused to be weened from breast milk well past two years of age.
  • This baby grew and progressed well without any signs of illness, not even a cold. Immunization is winning despite the scariest of early beginnings.

The child’s immunization included vaccinations for:

  • chickenpox
  • diphtheria
  • haemophilus influenza type B (Hib)
  • hepatitis B
  • Japanese encephalitis
  • measles
  • meningococcal disease
  • mumps
  • pneumococcal infection
  • polio (poliomyelitis)
  • rotavirus (for babies under six months)
  • rubella
  • tetanus
  • tuberculosis
  • whooping cough (pertussis)

Soon, perhaps in 2022, the list will include a coronavirus vaccine to prevent the COVID-19 disease.

During vaccinations, RINJ Nurses who vaccinate offer free checkup booking for your kids & a free confidential HIV test. You can even take the test home and do the HIV blood test privately. It is as simple as a blood sugar test sample. Sometimes there is a treat for children. Contact: talkback.rinj.org.

Precautions to avoid Disease help the Human Body work Magic.

Humanity is at war, total war with microbial pathogens. Anti-microbial resistance, the ability of pathogens to cope with and defend against the things we humans use to kill them,  threatens the effective prevention and treatment of an ever-increasing range of infections caused by bacteria, parasites, viruses and fungi.

This is war. Pathogens want to kill us and we need to stop them. The best weapons we have are in our own bodies so long as we warn our bodies in advance and show what the enemy looks like. That’s what vaccination does. Using dead microbes it shows immune systems how to identify the enemy. When a live microbe presents, antibodies are then ready, or white blood cell sensitivity has already been learned and the white blood cells are ready for the fight. Often, with effective immunization, the attacker’s death is quick.

To have better and more effective vaccinations, more surveillance systems and measures are needed to help prevent and manage antimicrobial resistance. Share that message to your doctor.

What families can do for themselves.

For the average family, it is wise to take all the precautions. Diseases are the enemy and they are ever-present and constantly evolving.

At home, regularly take a sterilizing spray to the handles and door knobs in your environment, especially around the bathroom, kitchen and the children’s rooms.

Make clean water available for drinking and clean up to the entire family. Make certain food preparation is done in a sanitary environment with good waste removal for liquids and solids. Isolate and disinfect human waste removal rooms.

Food grows bacteria between four degrees and seventy-three deg Celsius (40 and 160 deg F.). Cook all meat to an internal temperature above 73 deg C and if you are not cooking, store your food in a refrigerator just below 4 degrees, or freeze it.

Learn & teach how & when your family should properly wash hands.

Don’t Underestimate Hand Washing

Teach your family to first wet their hands with clean, running water (warm or cold), and apply soap. Wash with  soap the lever or knob that turns the water off and on.

Next they must lather their hands by rubbing them together with soap, also lathering  the backs of their hands, between their fingers, and under their nails. They must repetitively scrub their hands in this order for at least 20 seconds or while reciting the 5x arithmetic table from 0 to 12. (The kids’ grade 2 teachers will love you.) Tell them to then rinse their hands thoroughly under clean, running water. Then they must dry their hands with a clean towel and if not available, air dry them.

Hand sanitizer is not a suitable replacement for washing when preparing for functions like food preparation, caring for the sick, and after using the toilet.

Experienced-Based Medical Knowledge

Some weird stuff? In 2014 The RINJ Foundation nurses trapped in Mosul, Iraq when the Islamic State terrorists took over were quickly immersed in an environment where there was no clean running water. The population in a certain area where the water purification plant had been shelled, rapidly became infected and suffered from extreme cryptosporidiosis.

The Cryptosporidium bug which causes this illness had previously been combated with chlorine but had grown thicker shells and were resistant and able to survive for many days in chlorinated water. Alcohol did not kill these Cryptosporidium. The only thing that really worked was a solution of hydrogen peroxide.

Like many antagonists to the human existence, these little creeps adapted to what we were throwing at them. But strong soap created a barrier in the water that dislodges pathogens from the skin, then the running clean water washes them away into the waste water system. It takes 20 seconds to make that happen. Don’t count on hand sanitizer. Some bugs just shudder then shake it off.

Would you like to see what the Cryptosporidium looks like? Ick. It might encourage you to wash your hands.

Cryptosporidiosis is often not curable. It must be prevented with clean drinking water and generaly good hygiene. We first reported the rapidly increasing occurrence of this Mosul, Iraq disease in mid-summer 2015 and warned patients in the region to beware of drinking water that was not treated.

According to Stanford University Professors, “Cryptosporidiosis has now entered the forefront of public attention as it has become a lethal threat to immunosuppressed individuals. In the case of HIV, cryptosporidiosis plays the role of an opportunistic infection as it may cause severe dehydration and malnutrition which may be fatal to the HIV positive patient.”

Clean water for drinking and washing is critical for community health.

Here’s when to wash your hands.

  • Before, during, and after preparing food
  • Before eating food
  • Before and after caring for someone who is sick
  • Before and after treating a cut or wound
  • After blowing a nose, coughing, or sneezing
  • After using the toilet
  • After changing diapers or cleaning up a baby who has used the toilet
  • After touching an animal, animal feed, or animal waste
  • After touching garbage.

You can add a few items to the list relative to anomalous environments.

To Vaccinate (Section 2)

All patients should be informed about benefits of and risks from vaccines in narrative that is culturally relevant and at an appropriate comprehension level (fog factor). Opportunity for questions should be provided prior to vaccination and patients should be asked to remain in a waiting area for a reasonable period of  observation. If a patient lacks confidence, it might be intuitive. Suggest a consultation with a family doctor or allergist for an allergy test.

Vaccine adverse reactions are classified as

  • local,
  • systemic, or
  • allergic (if you are allergic to eggs, talk to your doctor and maybe seek an alternate vaccine if available without egg protein. Consider treatment for the egg protein allergy. Consider having a simple allergy test for the vaccine.)

Local reactions (e.g., skin redness) are usually the least severe and almost normal.

Systemic reactions (i.e: slight fever) occur less frequently than local reactions, and rare severe allergic reactions (i.e.: anaphylaxis) are the least frequent reactions.

Some vaccines contain egg protein and if you have an allergy to eggs, speak up. It is possible that you could have an allergic reaction similar to your reaction to eating some egg because some vaccines may contain a very small amount of egg protein.

When your public health department or doctor tells you or your children’s school  that you should be vaccinated for one or more pathogens that has become prolific in your community, get vaccinated. It’s like washing your hands after you poop and wipe. It’s important and highly likely to be necessary for a long, mostly healthy life.

It is possible but statistically unlikely that a person could have an allergic reaction to a vaccination. That is true of everything you encounter in life if you are prone to allergic reactions.

Most families always have in their medicine cabinet some 25 mg or 50 mg Diphenhydramine (Benadryl)  or whatever the preferred antihistamine might be. Take up to 50mg on your way to the hospital if you experience slow onset of swelling of the tongue, lips, throat or have difficulty breathing.

If you are prone to allergies and anaphylaxis reactions, you already know you should carry an epinephrine auto-injector (EpiPen). Use that instead if you experience anaphylaxis and you are no longer at the health care facility.  Anaphylaxis is a severe and life threatening condition.

Egg Allergies and Vaccinations According to the Mayo Clinic Staff:

  • Measles-mumps-rubella (MMR) vaccines are generally safe for children with egg allergy, even though eggs are used to produce them.
  • Flu (influenza) vaccines sometimes contain small amounts of egg proteins. However, a flu vaccine that doesn’t contain these proteins is approved for use in adults age 18 and older. And even vaccines that do have egg proteins can be given safely to most people with egg allergy without any problems. If you or your child has had a reaction to eggs in the past, talk to your doctor before getting a flu vaccination.
  • Yellow fever vaccine can provoke an allergic reaction in some people who have egg allergy. It’s given to travelers entering countries where there’s a risk of contracting yellow fever. It’s not generally recommended for people with egg allergy, but is sometimes given under medical supervision after testing for a reaction.
  • Other vaccines are generally not risky for people who have egg allergy. But ask your doctor, just to be safe. If your doctor is concerned about a vaccine, he or she may test you or your child to see whether it is likely to cause a reaction.
  • Even if you are just worried by something you heard or read, ask your doctor to do a quick and simple allergy test. This will unequivocally build your confidence that the vaccine is OK for you to benefit from.

Dealing with Patient Vaccine Allergies:
Patients receiving any vaccination should not leave the care facility until it has been determined that no contraindication is present. Allergic reactions are usually quick to happen.

The most common signs and symptoms happen at the instant of inoculation and are cutaneous (eg, sudden onset of generalized urticaria, angioedema, flushing, pruritus).

Nevertheless, 10 to 20% of patients have no skin findings, so have all patients wait 15 to 30 minutes and clear them for all indications before they leave. If you are the patient, stick around after your vaccination. That way you are in the right place if you should have an adverse reaction, as unlikely as that may be.

Danger signs children: Rapid progression of symptoms, evidence of respiratory distress (e.g., stridor, wheezing, dyspnea, increased work of breathing, retractions, persistent cough, cyanosis), signs of poor perfusion, abdominal pain, vomiting, dysrhythmia, hypotension, collapse.

Danger signs adults: Rapid progression of symptoms, respiratory distress (e.g., stridor, wheezing, dyspnea, increased work of breathing, persistent cough, cyanosis), vomiting, abdominal pain, hypotension, dysrhythmia, chest pain, collapse.

Normal reactions to vaccinations can include some swelling and redness because a volume of substance has been injected sub-muscularly or subcutaneously. In some cases immunization is oral.

To Not Vaccinate (Section 3)

If you have read something on some toxic social media internet site like Facebook whereupon a celebrity has declared that vaccination is evil and dangerous, ask your doctor to do a quick and simple allergy test. Such tests are perfectly safe. This will unequivocally build your confidence that the vaccine is OK for you to benefit from.

If you have made up your mind that you don’t want to be vaccinated, don’t inflict that risk on anyone else.

You can try to get away without vaccination as follows:

  1. Be prepared to face litigation or prosecution for the harm you may do to your family and anyone you or they may infect. That could mean your being dragged from your home to a court of jurisdiction so be sure to have handy a respirator mask and hazmat suit because of your risk of infections.
  2. If you want to stay healthy and keep your family healthy, do each of the following.
  3. Follow all of the aforementioned hygiene rules;
  4. Stay in your home 24/7 and do not allow any person to enter;
  5. Wear a clean N95 Health Care mask at all times;
  6. Boil all drinking and washing water;
  7. Sterilize all food by cooking at the recommended safe internal temperature;
  8. Protect yourself always with mosquito netting;
  9. Breathe only filtered, sterilized air;
  10. Preferentially you should live in a sterile and hermetically-sealed environment; and
  11. Stay away from human society having no interface with any sentient beings.
