“‘We women don’t want an Islamic Republic,’ is our message. We must unite Iranians and exploit this period of great shame of the Islamic Republic of Ali Khamenei and Ebrahim Raisi,” says a human rights defender and protest organizer in Tehran.

“The cost in lives of Iranian schoolgirls and young women has been shocking. It is most shocking that a government would kill its schoolgirls using innocent, peaceful protest as a flimsy excuse for their heinous crimes of killing women and children,” says Dr. Nassima al Amouri of The RINJ Foundation.

“The Women-Life-Freedom movement must immediately take to the streets and let the Islamic Republic know that it is not wanted, and is detested all around the world. We must make it clear that people are cheering everywhere that their bombs [drones] are being destroyed,” explains Behar Abbasi who has been organizing demonstrations in Tehran since last September. She was talking to a young schoolgirl and her friends who were seeking advice on how to organize their protests in their area and arranging for a security overwatch, which was granted.

“The military attacks against weapons factories are almost a big zero for us but we can exploit this period of shame for the Islamic Republic of Ali Khamenei and Ebrahim Raisi,” she explained.

“For our many sisters in Ukraine, my RINJ Women colleagues struggling to keep women and children alive, I hope this weekend’s air raids in Iran will mean fewer weapons exploding and killing Ukrainians. But I am not well-briefed on that industry so I don’t know how many bombs it would take to stop Ali Khamenei and Ebrahim Raisi’s dirty work of building weapons in Isfahan and pouring them into a conflict zone. Nobody should be doing that,” Behar continued.

“In Iran right now, everything costs too much money and people have much less discretionary income than ever before in the past forty years is our estimate now. We aim to exploit this dissatisfaction as well in achieving our message delivery. The message is consistent and universal:  ‘We women don’t want an Islamic Republic.'”
