For Abu Akleh murder, Israel/USA seek impunity, for femicide

Loss of Shireen has stolen many peoples’ accesses to truth. But she’s just one woman, whereas America has the blood of thousands of women on its hands in Afghanistan and in Ukraine. Israel hopes reportage has gone silent. It hasn’t. These two are now pariahs—nobody’s real friends.

Just like Shireen, Omar Khmour was shot in the head by an Israeli killer, hours ago. Not a fearless Shero journalist, Omar was just a kid. He was somebody’s beloved son, adored nephew, precious pupil.

Israeli/Palestinian hostility is today spiraling out of control. We miss Shireen’s reportage.

Frequent attacks by both sides are escalating deaths on both sides. Monday, the death of a beloved 14-year-old Palestinian, Omar Khmour in an Israeli attack in the defiled West Bank, has raised the anger to boiling levels for Tuesday.

Later, on Monday, the Palestinian militant group Hamas issued video of an Israeli they had captured as a taunt to Lieutenant-General Herzi Halevi who was sworn in as the new commander of Israel’s Army, on Monday. Both sides of the story are horrible.

Meanwhile, Palestinian Journalists decried the Shireen Abu Akleh murder, via their syndicate, as the 86th journalist killed by Israel whilst they covered Israel’s violent actions in the occupied territories of Palestine as they have done since Israel first occupied Gaza, West Bank, and East Jerusalem in 1967. The trigger for the recent proclamations of anger is the International Criminal Court’s waffling on the Shireen Abu Akleh matter.

The impunity for criminality

The picture and its story: “Extended violence against racial targets & impunity for crimes of the corrupt is what Benjamin Netanyahu stands for now that the chips are down and he has been caught by the justice system of Israel,” says a man who once served in Yoni Netanyahu’s unit and unequivocally backed Benjamin all these years. “Not anymore,” he says. “We know Israelis murdered Shireen, because we were there that day,” says The RINJ Foundation‘s Dr. Nassima al Amouri.

Without using the actual words, the International Criminal Court (ICC) has more or less said that it is twisting in the wind wondering what to do about the murder of this highly esteemed Al Jazeera correspondent of 25 years who was slaughtered last 11 May.

The partially-funded ICC, itself a political mammalian thing in a quagmire, is fighting for its existence because those countries the USA is able to influence have all shat on the failed promise of justice of the Rome Statute.

What in reality this means, if one can accept the findings of Julian Assange, is that the worst criminals in the world have overpowered the International Criminal Court. There is no justice for those who seek it from any institution, and the best way ahead is to take matters into one’s own hands. And that means rioting in the streets, storming the Bastille walls with weapons as in Brazil or the USA, or peaceful protest depending on the justified anger levels. There’s nothing left once institutions fail say most wise persons. That should suggest that the United Nations and the grossly underfunded International Criminal Court both need to get their acts together and put the jurisprudence show into full-bore action. This does not seem hard to accomplish now that the work is done. Watch the al Jazeera Fault Lines special broadcast of “The Killing of Shireen Abu Akleh”

Who was Shireen Abu Akleh? She was a Shero for millions upon millions upon millions. “Ignore that at your peril,” say feminists.

RINJ Women seek ICC prosecution of Shero Shireen‘s killers

The case of the Israeli murder of Shireen Abu Akleh is a crime against humanity and it is a crime of femicide. For this crime, Israel and America seek their usual impunity. The ICC is asked to investigate and prosecute this crime as if Shireen is the sister of each and every one of us, because she truly is the sister of each and every one of us and there but for the grace of Allāh go we.

In May 2021, Israel slaughtered 263 Gaza civilians incl. 58 Kids, 38 moms and Shireen reported that story as did we under enormous protest from Israel and the United States.

For this reportage Israel assassinated Shireen Abu Akleh with obvious White House approval. That the USA endorsed the killing is becoming more apparent in recent days and while only a suspicion, as yet incapable of proof, it is an apparent thing we know in our hearts.

“That Israel targeted and killed Shireen Abu Akleh, is beyond a reasonable doubt, capable of proof. The ICC is again asked to prove itself above political influence and act immediately to the current petitions for ICC action. Don’t rest yet, if that suits you, Shireen. If so, please help guide our actions. We are one with all who love you and seek justice for our beloved sister.”—RINJ Women Board of Directors
