USA and Israel plan to ignore UNSC CeaseFire Vote

For “this non-binding resolution,” says the USA Ambassador to the United Nations, we abstain from voting.  A ceasefire resolution has been passed. It was advanced by 10 elected members to the council, and proposed by Mozambique’s representative, shown in the image below.

Linda Thomas Greenfield speaking for the USA rambled on about America’s hatred for Hamas castigating three UN members who had canned a disgusting American waffling-motion that did not call for an immediate and permanent ceasefire in Gaza but made a pretext of doing so for the gullible Democratic voters in the USA considering re-electing Joe Biden in a conflict of his life against former U.S. President Donald Trump.

Outside Chapter 7 Citations calling for execution of the resolution by armed force, the US Ambassador alleges off stage that the UNSC CeaseFire Resolution is non-binding. Scholars refute this allegation.

The USA is claiming that the ceasefire resolution is conditional on America approving a satisfactory release of hostages and that the Ceasefire resolution is not enforceable.

That may not be true. It is certainly debated fiercely.

Meanwhile Israel has just banned all United Nations humanitarian aid trucks from Gaza and promised to assassinate the top members of Hamas whom Benjamin Netanyahu named in part, “even if it means killing everyone in Gaza,” according a RINJ Women member close to the Israeli Prime Minister.

Medical workers in Gaza say that people around the world need to brace themselves for news that many of the hostages are deceased as a result of famine, disease and USA/Israeli carpet bombing.

Benjamin Netanyahu has made it clear that Israel will not respect any resolution of the UN Security Council (UNSC). It is no less true that Israel has defied over 145 passed resolutions of the UNSC, over past years.

Netanyahu’s massive ethnic cleansing / genocidal campaign has many fronts.

Saudi Arabia has issued a statement saying, “We condemn the Israeli occupation’s decision to approve the construction of about 3,500 new settlement units.”

In a monstrous distraction from the carnage in the West Bank and East Jerusalem, it has taken six months of carnage for the UNSC to pass any kind of resolution but there is little hope that the people of Gaza will survive this Gaza Genocide.

Zhang Jun, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of China to the UN, thanked the E-10 members for their efforts on the draft.

Noting that his country’s negative vote on the US-led draft resolution last Friday, he stated that a comparison of the two drafts showed the differences.

“The current draft is unequivocal and correct in its direction demanding an immediate ceasefire, while the previous one was evasive and ambiguous,” said Zhang Jun, adding that the present members’ resolution also reflected the general expectations of the international community and enjoyed the collective support of Arab nations.

Zhang Jun said China had forced the USA to realize it could not continue obstructing the UN Security Council as it has done for six months.

“For the lives that have already perished, the Council resolution today comes too late”, Zhang Jun said, but for those still living in the Gaza Strip, the resolution represents “long awaited hope.”

“All harm to civilians must cease immediately” and the offensive must end, said the Permanent Representative of China to the UN.

Ambassador Linda Thomas-Greenfield, Permanent Representative of the United States to the UN, abstains on the resolution demanding an immediate ceasefire in Gaza for the month of Ramadan which is mostly over.

“One thing that the USA cannot ignore is Netanyahu’s promise to launch another slaughter via ground attack in Rafah where over a million refugees have made their last stand. The rest of Gaza is covered in debris and many thousands of dead rotting uncounted bodies according to all our mobile humanitarian workers of The RINJ Foundation,” explained Behar Abbasi in Gaza.
