A two-sides-of-the-story update by Melissa Hemingway in Donbass and Micheal John in Canada
- “The Ukraine side must modify its constitution to recognize the Donetsk People’s Republic as a free and sovereign state consistent with the definitions of borders in the Donetsk PR constitution of 2014 and furthermore, cease all Ukrainian military attacks against the Donetsk Republic that have been taking place since May 2014. The same would apply to Luhansk PR.
- “The Ukraine side must modify its constitution to recognize the Luhansk People’s Republic as a free and sovereign state consistent with the definitions of borders in the Luhansk PR 2014 constitution and cease all military attacks against the Republic that have been taking place since May 2014.
- “The Ukraine side must officially recognize Crimea as part of Russia.
- “The previous three items are to be done as indicated by the choice of the people’s of these three regions each with a plebiscite that determines the particulars, in 2014.
- “The Ukraine side must embed into its constitution an undertaking not to become a NATO nation,” explained the source.
Another item on the list of suggested terms is not a condition but a suggestion at the time being for ongoing discussion reports Melissa Hemingway from contacts in the region. The source referred to the de-Nazification of Ukraine which Russian Federation President Putin has suggested as one of the many goals of his ‘military operation’. This is a sore point with the Russian people explained the source, because Russia lost over 25 million persons to the Nazi massacres of World War Two.

IWD2022 Women and girls wait for the first part of a journey fleeing their homes in Ukraine to Poland. This is needless suffering “because of the failure of Joseph Biden, Vladimir Putin and Jens Stoltenberg who failed as so-called leaders to prevent this war in Eastern Europe,” urges Dale Carter, security director for the RINJ Women organization. “It is now more dangerous to be a woman than to be a soldier in modern conflict,” she adds.

President Putin offered consoling yet congratulatory words to Women on IWD2022, a time when millions of Donetsk PR, Luhansk PR, Ukraine, Russian and Crimean women and children are suffering, “because of the failure of Joseph Biden, Vladimir Putin and Jens Stoltenberg who failed as so-called leaders to prevent this war in Eastern Europe,” urges Dale Carter, security director for the RINJ Women organization.
Russia will effective immediately “establish payments for children from eight to 16 years old inclusive” for all families with low incomes. These measures will take effect from 1 April 2022, and the first payments to families will receive in May.
President Putin said on International Women’s Day 2022, that “I would also like to appeal to the mothers, wives, sisters, brides and girlfriends of our soldiers and officers who are now in combat, defending Russia during a special military operation. I understand how worried you are for your loved ones. You can be as proud of them as the whole country is proud of them and worries about them.”
“We know how many women work in hospitals, clinics, ambulances, at various levels – from nannies, nurses and to chief doctors. Over the past two years, you have been working in very difficult conditions with huge, sometimes exorbitant loads and continue to selflessly fight for the life and health of each patient. Thank you very much,” said the Russian President. “Special words of respect for women who perform their duty and serve in the ranks of the Russian Armed Forces. Thank you for your loyalty to the Fatherland,” he added.
In preparation for 8 March IWD2022 events, Vladimir Putin met with representatives of the airline flight crews of Aeroflot on 5 March 2022.
‘We have always treated women in aviation with special respect, with special interest [translated],’ said President Putin.
“I think that at the beginning of the last century, Vladimir Purtin added, “the first women appeared in aviation, and they proved themselves brilliantly during the Great Patriotic War – we know all these famous names of women’s regiments, how they fought, we know – and now they work in all positions: dispatchers, engineers, technicians, I repeat, flight attendants, pilots. In general, such a serious very female squad, which complements the male part of the aviation industry,” said the Russian Federation President.
“Today’s Minister of Transport [Vitaly Savelyev] – the recent head of the Aeroflot Group has long asked me to come and see this training and the training centre. Coincidentally, well-known events are taking place, and March 8 is on the nose, so he and I decided not to postpone anything, no matter what, but to see what is here, how it is used and what the prospects of this center are,” said the RUssian President in advance of special events for IWD2022. “…Once again, happy holiday to you, happy 8th of March!” Photo Credit: Kremlin.ru

Full Text [Translated]: In a public statement to the Women of Russia, Russian Federation President Vladimir Putin delivered the following statement:
Our dear women!
March 8 is one of our favorite holidays. It is permeated with the brightest feelings.
From the bottom of my heart I congratulate you on International Women’s Day! And I want to wish that your loved ones surround you with attention and warmth, that kindness and participation return to you, which you generously give to family, children, grandchildren, colleagues and friends.
We live in difficult times: global economic challenges and problems, military conflicts and the inevitable need to protect our people and our country, the pandemic and the struggle for the life and health of millions of citizens.
But even in the period of the most difficult trials of the Great Patriotic War, nothing could prevent the men of Russia from confessing their love to their women, and this love served as a support and inspired.
Today there are sincere words of admiration and gratitude to wives, mothers, grandmothers, sisters, daughters, friends for your loyalty, reliability and support in any trials.
For its part, the state will do everything to support the family – this is our unconditional priority. We already have monthly payments from the state for pregnant women and families with low incomes, where children grow up to the age of seven inclusive. In addition, assistance is provided to parents who are raising children between the ages of eight and 16 alone.
I believe that we must make a new decision – to establish payments for children from eight to 16 years old inclusive, I emphasize, for all families with low incomes, to support them. This measure will take effect from April 1, and the first payments to families will receive in May.
Dear Russian women, you make the world a better place, kinder thanks to sensitivity, compassion and spiritual generosity, combine charming tenderness and amazing inner strength.
We know how many women work in hospitals, clinics, ambulances, at various levels – from nannies, nurses and to chief doctors. Over the past two years, you have been working in very difficult conditions with huge, sometimes exorbitant loads and continue to selflessly fight for the life and health of each patient. Thank you very much.
Special words of respect for women who perform their duty and serve in the ranks of the Russian Armed Forces. Thank you for your loyalty to the Fatherland.
I would also like to appeal to the mothers, wives, sisters, brides and girlfriends of our soldiers and officers who are now in combat, defending Russia during a special military operation. I understand how worried you are for your loved ones. You can be as proud of them as the whole country is proud of them and worries about them.
I would like to stress that soldiers undergoing military service do not and will not participate in hostilities. There will be no additional call for reservists from the reserve.
The tasks set are solved only by professional military. I am confident that they will reliably ensure security and peace for the people of Russia.
Today I want to recall the words written, according to contemporaries, by a great woman who was called “Matushka” in Russia – this is Empress Catherine II, whose sculptural image is installed here, in the Kremlin. She was not Russian by birth, but was proud to become Russian. Here are these lines: “I will defend my homeland with my tongue, and with a pen, and with a sword, as long as I have enough life.” And in our time, the words “Motherland”, “mother”, “beloved” are in the same row for us. It always will be that way.
Happy International Women’s Day!
