Joseph Biden promised to end USA support for the war in Yemen which has killed more than 100,000 citizens of Yemen but America’s quitting is far from happening. The war economy from the Yemen fiasco, the world’s worst humanitarian catastrophe is too much for Biden’s reelection team to pass up.

Joe Biden, on 9 February 2020, reaffirmed USA’s “commitment to support” Saudi Arabia against Yemen’s Houthi rebels, the White House said. The United States has both regular forces and mercenaries in Yemen according to eyewitness accounts. The writer has treated witnesses harmed by American Forces in Yemen.
The bombings continue using American 500-pound bombs dropped by American-made airplanes by American trained pilots. The bombs are killing citizens at a colossal rate, says the United Nations.
Joe Biden accuses the Houthi government of Yemen of being Iran proxies but both the Houthis and Iran deny these allegations. The White House described the Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabia as “Iranian-enabled” but ignores things like the prison its bombs destroyed in January killing 70 or more unarmed civilians held in detention.
Bombed Detention Center in Saada, Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) said at least 70 people were killed.

COVID-19 Runs rampant in Yemen. No public testing is done, people just die without treatment unless they find their way to a rare hospital where they are tested and occasionally treated.
According to the World Health Organization, referring to the few hospitals doing any testing at all, “from 3 January 2020 to 5:20pm CET, 18 February 2022, there have been 11,707 confirmed cases of COVID-19 with 2,113 deaths, reported to WHO. As of 12 February 2022, a total of 768,104 vaccine doses have been administered.”
Taha al-Motawakel, health minister Al-Motawakel has repeatedly accused the coalition of deliberately targeting Yemen’s civilians.
“We consider this a war crime against humanity. The world should take responsibility at this critical moment in human history,” he said.

“Aiming to feed nearly 13 million of the most vulnerable people each month,” the World Food Programme’s (WFP) emergency response in Yemen is the WFP’s largest anywhere in the world, say organizers.
“The current level of hunger in Yemen is unprecedented and is causing severe hardship for millions of people. Despite ongoing humanitarian assistance, 16.2 million Yemenis are food insecure. Pockets of famine-like conditions have returned to Yemen for the first time in two years in Hajjah, Amran and Al Jawf, where nearly 50,000 people are living in famine like conditions. Over 5 million people in Yemen are on the brink of famine as the conflict and economic decline have left families struggling to find enough food to get through the day,” citing the WFP’s most recent plea for help.
The Yemen crisis, is another Biden Fiasco since 2013 when Biden was USA Vice President.
Biden continues to be part of the severe violations of America, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Great Britain, Egypt, Morocco, Jordan, Sudan, Kuwait, Qatar, and Bahrain which make up the coalition against Yemen in what amounts to a proxy war against Iran, both countries using Yemen to promote and sell their weapons systems and tactics.
America’s secret wars are many. So are America’s denials. Army commandos have been seen on Saudi Arabia’s border with Yemen since late last year, according to an exclusive report by The New York Times. The commandos are helping to locate and destroy missiles and launch sites used by indigenous Houthi rebels in Yemen, to attack Saudi cities in the ongoing war.
As many as 40% of the soldiers in the Saudi/American coalition against the Houthi uprising in Yemen are children, a serious violation of international humanitarian law.
America backed a Yemen President who was ousted. That’s when Biden became involved.
The US/Saudi coalition of nine countries had responding to US-backed president of Yemen, Abdrabbuh Mansur Hadi, for military support after he was ousted by the Houthi movement. Hadi had fled to the United States but currently lives in exile in Saudi Arabia, occasionally staying in the United States.
The coalition usurped a United Nations ongoing political transition structuring, ending the UN effort with violence.
“With 24.1 million people, 80 per cent of the population in need of humanitarian aid and protection, Yemen is now the largest humanitarian crisis in the world,” says the United Nations.
“The people of Yemen have been abandoned. Betrayed. Yet again,” Amnesty International’s secretary general Agnes Callamard has said while referring to the withdrawal of United Nations human rights monitors.

More than 14 million people are in acute need and more than three million people have been displaced from their homes since 2015. Fifty-eight percent of the population is currently living in extreme poverty, says the UN officials in the country.
Public institutions that provide healthcare, water, sanitation and education have collapsed in Yemen.
“The UN chief has condemned airstrikes launched by the Saudi-led coalition battling Houthi rebels in Yemen, that struck a detention centre in the rebel-held city of Saada, which have left at least 70 dead, and more than hundred injured,” said the spokesperson for the UN Secretary General on 21 January 2022.
