Two Chinese Aircraft Carriers put to sea since Sunday to meet USA sovereignty challenge

Forty-eight hotel rooms were booked for Nancy Pelosi at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Taipei, Taiwanese media write. The American congressional delegation will consist of 40 people. Pelosi will meet with the President of Taiwan, the speaker of Taiwan’s Parliament and a number of human rights activists.

Pelosi and her delegation have departed Malaysia and the Spar19 flight has progressed toward the Philippines airspace just south of Davao City by 19:40 local time. Some sources say Pelosi is not aboard and that she will arrive by private aircraft around 10:20 p.m. local time. That is not confirmed.

Another US government plane arrived in Malaysia to accompany Pelosi’s flight to Taiwan or to replace her special board, the Global Times China CCP newspaper writes.

Speaker Nancy Pelosi may arrive by private aircraft at Songshan airport at 22:20pm local time (GMT+8 14:20 GMT), according to the ‘Liberty Times’, one of several media outlets linked to Taiwan’s President Tsai Ing-Wen’s political party.

On Tuesday afternoon, 2 August, the Foreign Ministry of Taiwan said it could not comment on the speculation about Ms. Pelosi’s trip.

Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson Hua Chunying said on Tuesday that Beijing was talking to Washington DC about Pelosi’s visit to Taipei.
