Traffickers of women, children took a hit: Facebook is down

According to a global women’s group, RINJ Women, that has been at odds with Facebook for over a decade, Facebook has been brought down because it stands in the middle of a fight wherein ISIS wants to exploit the young persons on the platform and a human rights organization seeks to stop that. There has been a vigorous fight between the two parties over the past five years or more.

Facebook is Down

“The attack appears to be a catastrophic failure of the domain name service (DNS) for Facebook. The name servers (DNS) for Facebook are non responsive,” explains Simon Baldock, an Israeli security analyst.

“We believe that Facebook is under attack by a terrorist group, but they will never tell you that,” reports Behar Abbasi who says she was told this by women who have come face-to-face with an Islamic fundamentalist group in the Middle East in a gruelling rivalry  between female rights activists and Sharia law proponents.

“Many children have been trafficked through Facebook connections. Facebook is estimated to be the number one child recruitment sites for traffickers, in all history if one excludes the kidnap of entire girl schools in Nigeria and the acquiescence of Nigerian police services. Facebook also acquiesces to child sex slave traffickers, like ISIS, al Quaeda and many more crime rings,” says RINJ Women spokesperson Geraldine Frisque.

Ten years ago the fight to get child sex slavery recruitment off Facebook was met with global disdain because this is a business Facebook makes plenty of money from.

ISIS Retaliates against Women’s Group for recovering three kidnapped young girls in Afghanistan. Sadly, one child was dead already.

“One of our facilities in Afghanistan was attacked and everything was stolen including computers, and medicine. ISIS got access to our Facebook accounts. They were looking for the nurse who attended the home of one of the missing “child brides”. That woman did not know that she was being followed,” explained Ms. Frisque, the RINJ spokesperson.

“In  mid August 2021, following a skirmish with the kidnappers of three young girls not far from Kandahar, a group of resistance fighters collected a RINJ Nurse and set out to find the daughter of a family with connections to the group. In this area jihadist fighters had been kidnapping girls and claiming them as wives.

“The resistance fighters (supported by the USA) had retained the same private security organization that has worked for The RINJ Foundation for years. That is how they knew we had people in the area. Otherwise, our women’s shelters and birthing clinics are not well known to males.

“On the 28th of August, ISIS from Turkey, Pakistan and India had launched cyber attacks against the RINJ Women and in doing so took over the <https://facebook.com/rape.is.no.joke>RINJ Rape Is No Joke Facebook page and a dozen others including one that had been tracking the movements of ISIS and al Qaeda. All were public service pages on Facebook.

“Women warned Facebook users that ISIS Controlled its contact pages and provided a direct phone number to call. Facebook refused to help and exploited the controversy,” say women’s rights activists.

Warning that was posted on Facebook:
This page has been taken over by ISIS-K Since August 28, 2021
In a recent checkpoint skirmish near Kandahar, wherein members of the local resistance and a RINJ Foundation security detail plus one nurse were seeking a kidnapped female child, the result was three dead Daesh members. Following that skirmish, and after interrogating a fourth person, the whereabouts of the girl was released and she and two other girls were rescued. In the events following that matter, jihadists raided two RSAC facilities and stole the computers. Now they are attacking RINJ workers online and taking control of Facebook pages since August 28. Facebook has been going along with this.
