The irony of becoming both a top diplomat and top soldier speaks to this man’s extraordinarily good character.


Tears are  shed by people who never met him. Millions knew Colin Powell by reputation as a solid, stand-up superhero who achieved the notable distinction of being the topmost diplomat and the topmost soldier in the entire world.

“General Colin L. Powell, former U.S. Secretary of State and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, passed away this morning due to complications from COVID-19,” wrote his family on Monday on a social media platform.

Secretary Powell suffered multiple myeloma, a pernicious cancer of his plasma cells, according to Peggy Cifrino, General Powell’s chief of staff.

“Parkinson’s disease, cancer and their treatments deprived this patient of a full functioning immune system with which to build antibodies and stronger T-cells as a response to vaccine treatment,” explained Dr. Nassima al Amouri, a humanitarian medical doctor working among ordinary civilians of many nations in the deeply troubled nation of Syria.

“The patient, according to his family, was vaccinated against COVID-19 but that would have been a routine precaution despite the patient’s cancer-depleted immune response system,” explained doctor al Amouri.

“Nevertheless, Mr. Powell responded, is my understanding, and almost beat the COVID-19 infection, but a complication arose that his 84-year-old systems could not cope with,” she said.

“Caring doctors at Walter Reed Army Medical Center lost a patient they fought vigorously with a lot of heart, to save.

“And the world lost a very good friend and senior statesman,” said the doctor.
