Pres. Biden and Michigan Gov. Whitmer hit home runs, Friday

“Pfizer is on track to provide the U.S. 120 million doses by the end of March and 200 million doses by the end of May — two months ahead of schedule,” Jen Psaki, the White House press secretary, told reporters aboard Air Force One as the US President Biden winged toward Michigan and the Pfizer facility in Kalamazoo.

The Great Lakes State with the Ojibwe tribe name welcomed the US President. Governor Whitmer said that, “President Biden has worked diligently to support Michigan’s vaccine operation since he took office four weeks ago, and today he followed through on his promise to visit our state and personally thank the hard-working Michiganders who are supplying the vaccine to the country.”

“The number of shots going into arms has increased dramatically since President Biden took office, and the president and I will not stop working until this pandemic is over once and for all. It’s heartening to know that Michigan has such a strong ally in the White House as we continue to curb this virus, equitably distribute vaccines, and work to return to life as normal,” added Governor Whitmer.

Michigan has administered more than 1,780,000 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine, says a statement released hours ago. The state’s vaccination infrastructure has jabbed more Michiganders than the number of total recorded cases in the state. In an all-of-government solidarity effort to eliminate COVID-19, the state has developed a comprehensive vaccination strategy centered around vaccinating at least 70 percent of Michiganders age 16 and older as soon as possible. Earlier today, President Biden addressed the 2021 [Virtual] Munich Security Conference

“Thank you, Mr. Ambassador. And it’s great to be with Angela and Emmanuel [Macron]. We just spent part of — from Washington’s perspective — the morning together. But I want to say hello to everyone and thanks to you — at the Munich Conference for hosting this special session.

“For decades, as you pointed out, I’ve participated in the Munich Security Conference — as a U.S. senator, joining my colleagues on both sides of the aisle to affirm the importance of the transatlantic partnership; three times as the Vice President of the United States, including delivering the first international foreign policy address of the Obama-Biden administration in the first months we were in office.

“And two years ago, as you pointed out, when I last spoke at Munich, I was a private citizen; I was a professor, not an elected official.

“But I said at that time, “We will be back.” And I’m a man of my word. America is back.”
