United States is heading into big COVID-19 Trouble. Science-Policy gap widens

“Of the current active cases today, and 1.7% CFR, 105,824 Americans will soon, for sure, die of COVID-19. This was—but no longer—preventable. Mask up and get vaccinated. Wear an N95 respirator,” says Canadian doctor to Americans who may now enter Canada if fully vaccinated.

In mid-August 2021, the United States maintains its status as the worst COVID-19  nation on the planet according to COVID-19 statistics collected by numerous infectious disease tracking biostatisticians including Johns Hopkins University Systems Science and Engineering, WorldoMeter, and Civil Society Partners in Solidarity against COVID-19.

Additionally America is not only vaccine hesitant, a peculiar privilege during a pandemic that is trashing the life out of humankind—over vaccines its own people created—America is also hording vaccines and wasting tens of thousands of jabs, say numerous complainants including United Nations Secretary General Antonio Guterres.

Millions of COVID-19 vaccine doses are sitting on freezer shelves waiting for Americans to finish their hesitations, or the expiry date to pass, reports US National Public Radio. This, despite the pleadings of many nations to Joe Biden asking him to release the doses rather than let them expire and then be trashed.

“There are currently more than 1,300 Lambda [SARS-CoV-2 variant]  sequences in the USA as of 4 August 2021, and the Lambda variant has been identified in 44 states,” a Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) spokesperson recently told Newsweek.

“The SARS-CoV-2 lambda variant (lineage C.37) was designated by the World Health Organization as a variant of interest and is currently increasing in prevalence in South American and other countries. The lambda spike protein contains novel mutations within the receptor binding domain (L452Q and F490S) that may contribute to its increased transmissibility and could result in susceptibility to re-infection or a reduction in protection provided by current vaccines,” citing SARS-CoV-2 Lambda Variant Remains Susceptible to Neutralization by mRNA Vaccine-elicited Antibodies and Convalescent Serum.

Pfizer jabs lose effectiveness over time: 6 months. A booster that is not yet ready until 2022 will be needed.

Meanwhile, Pfizer and a study in Israel where vaccinees are more than six months vaccinated, say the efficacy of the MRNA vaccines of Pfizer have waning effectiveness and will require a booster shot after six months.

Allegedly, according to the company the Moderna MRNA vaccine does not suffer the same waning efficacy and maintains 93% effectiveness after 6 months.

“We are confident in this vaccine and the third dose, but you have to remember the vaccine efficacy study is still going on, so we need all the evidence to back up that,” Jerica Pitts, Pfizer’s director of media relations, said last week.

Vaccine hesitancy is harming kids and young people in America.

Al Jazeera is reporting that “Paediatric hospitalisations hit 1,902 on Saturday, according to data from the US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) – accounting for about 2.4 percent of the country’s total coronavirus-related hospitalisations.”

In the United States, all-ages active cases climbed 912,990 cases in 11 days or 83k per day average as of 8:00am EDT 15 August 2021.

A population sector that doesn’t want to get vaccinated ever, may balk even further knowing vaccination will become an annual event.

Clinical trials on the booster  began in July according to the CEO of Pfizer, but will not be completed until 2022, even though according to the Israeli study, the effectiveness of the Pfizer jab after six-months is 39% although still protecting against serious outcomes for the 61% who could get the infection despite being vaccinated.

The CEO of Pfizer, Albert Bourla, however, said on 28 July the vaccine drops to 84% efficacy [from 100%] after 6-months. Bourla suggests that boosters will be needed between six and twelve months and that a vaccination every year thereafter will be essential to preventing infections.

The Israeli study is based on real-world experience, not marketing data. Israel has begun administering third jabs.

Mask or no mask? Vaccine or no vaccine? The gap between American science and American policymakers is a canyon full of stupefying nonsense.

America is in a terribly diseased state. This was again preventable.

The bickering over mask wearing and vaccination and the logic behind the arguments is outrageously stupid considering the cost in lives.

The disconnect between American scientists and American policymakers has become legendary and continuous since the pandemic broke out. Dr. Anthony Fauci seems to be forever back-peddling on his responses to public questions, especially on masks.

From Donald Trump’s denial to his plan for ingesting cleaning chemicals and irradiating the population with UV-C  to Scott Atlas and now Joe Biden playing doctor to America, the United States seems to fear science and prefer Charlatans, the more outrageous the better.

“On COVID-19 the gap between American science and American policymakers is a canyon full of stupefying nonsense. Wear an N95 and get vaccinated—that is the gold in the canyon,” explains Fred Harris, a biostatistician in Singapore.

FPM.news asked 12 nurse trainees and 3 resident doctors about mask wearing. Fifteen people said they wore an N95 respirator since the beginning of the pandemic, adding medical goggles and a medical face shield when entering high-risk areas, since the start of the pandemic, and none had become ill with any virus, not even a cold or influenza.

Now the public needs to wear N95s and get vaccinated.

Apparently, since 20 July 1969, when US President Richard Nixon spoke with Apollo crew members Neil Armstrong and Edwin “Buzz” Aldrin via telephone-radio transmission to the moon, things have gone down hill.  This country that put men on the moon can’t even manage to wear a respirator mask and send its kids to school safely.

Maintaining a consistent and epic failure at managing the COVID-19 pandemic in the United States, America is proving that it has become incompetent and dangerous to the world as a nation. Nobody can spread COVID-19 disease like Americans.

America has one third the number of active cases of the rest of the world.

What else can one say about such a dismal performance? Whatever accolades were due America, it’s colossal failure at containing this virus indicates Americans not only didn’t care about the rest of the world, they hate each other too.

The American epicenter including all territories has 32.56% of global active cases ( 6,240,312 USA (including territories) / 19,164,919 Global), people infected with COVID-19 now.

Case Fatality rates in the United States have dropped in the past two months slightly to 1.7% based only on reported data.

But on these numbers, 6,224,951 active cases on the early morning of 15 August 2021, the USA CFR indicates many thousands of people will die. In fact the IHME estimates 1,085,299 excess COVID-19 deaths based on the current projection scenario, by December 1, 2021.

“Of the current active cases today, 105,824 Americans will soon, for sure, die of COVID-19. This was preventable. Mask up and get vaccinated now. Wear an N95 respirator,” says Canadian doc to US troops and civilians in the Middle East and to folks at home in America.

This, according to Dr. Nassima al Amouri who is a Canadian MD slugging it out against SARS2 in the trenches of the Middle East.
